Pow WoW is the celebration of native culture, where the natives get together with westerners to appreciate the drum beats and dance to the sacred sounds, brining people back to the times where there were no cities, and we lived in small communities The Pow WoW performers are the real natives, with authentic hand made outfits in the best tradition of Indian Culture.

This year’s Pow WoW is the first one to be featured in Montreal, as it usually takes place at indian reserves outside of Montreal. The event will be located in the old port. There you will witness native dances and get a taste of the native food.

Darlene Wapachee, Aboriginal Youth Council coordinator, put together the inaugural Youth Gathering which assembles Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal youths to interact and have fun. A dating game, and workshops dealing with traditional dance, storytelling, and aboriginals in film are among the activities planned for them.
