Obama’s High-Tech Defenses: Bullet-Resistant Suit, Tank-Like Limo, and One Huge Gun

What kind of high-tech precautions were taken on inauguration day? Advanced ballistics fabrics, a truck-limo hybrid with bunker-like doors, and a trailing machine gun vehicle were among the latest defenses issued the President, in the face of at least one potential terrorist threat-alert issued to local and federal police, as reported by the AP. - Fast Company

On top of the armored limo and bulletproof vest, over 12,000 police officers, swat soldiers, and secret service agents patrolled the streets and kept a close eye on crowds for potential threats. Crowd numbered at over a million people, so the numbers were a little off balance.

The Obama Limo Day

Posted In: Celebrities by Limo Team

Today, January 20th 2009 Barack Obama was inaugurated as the 44th American President. More then a million people traveled to Washington to see inauguration live, and more than 500 million people turned their TV and computer monitors to witness the event.

Obama’s limo got some shine in the press as well, in fact here some of the most interesting articles for the day regarding his car:

Obama limousine has ‘44′ on its plate

Carrying the president-elect’s entourage were two massive, specially reinforced and outfitted shiny black vehicles, one for Obama and his family and one as a decoy for security reasons. The numbers on their navy blue license plates read “44,” a nod to the soon-to-be 44th president. - Yahoo News

Article came a little early since Obama is now officially the president of the United States with “44″ on his license plate. Yahoo says that 1 limo is there for decoy reasons, but its fairly easy to identify Obama with 44 on the plate…

Obama limo has Goodyear tires

Barack Obama will be riding on a little bit of Akron-based technology after he takes the oath of office for president today. The president’s official customized Cadillac DTS limousine will be riding on a set of specialized Goodyear tires. - Ohio.com

Good marketing for Good Year. I hear a new slogan coming up “President Chooses Good Year” or, “If it’s safe for president - its safe for you”

President-elect Barack Obama may inherit his predecessors’ wars, deficit and address, but he will not have to ride in George W. Bush’s car. The Detroit News reports during the inauguration, Obama will cruise down Pennsylvania Avenue in an armoured 2009 Cadillac Presidential Limousine.  - NPR

The Cadillac is made by GM and has been in the making for several months. It is covered by armour from top to bottom, with no weak spots. It is literally a tank with windows disguised as a car, without the cannon. It doesn’t need a cannon, because it has thousands of canons at disposal known as the US Army.

Hello, my name is Ivan, and I work for Montreal Limo. One of my tasks is to keep this blog lively, along with other company blogs.

Last Friday, I moved in to Montreal from Toronto, and to tell you, it’s been fun few days. The trip started with me leaving for Pearson at 7am. We got there on time, with no hassle. Airport lady accepted my overweight bad, and plane took off without delays. Upon arrival Silvo Frank met me at Dorval airport to give him a hand at arranging the stand for the wedding trade show in downtown Montreal.

We dropped off my bags and went to the warehouse to rent tables, and stand decorations. After picking up the merndize, it was a short ride to the show, where we had to carry chairs and tables through entire building. After setting everything up we headed up for the office.

In the office Mike Wilson picked me up and drove to my new home in Laval, where Michael, limo driver lives, along with computer programmer Ugin. The house belongs to Michael, but he rents his rooms, to pay off the house faster. The guy himself is very friendly and you will love him. He also got a little kid, named Sammy and dates cute girl Dana. On the same night we went to the club, where I was introduced to his friends.

Anyway, it’s nice to be here, and you should know that people  behind yor limo rides are caring and responsible individuals.
